My team has seen the opportunity in the New Zealand market that there is no advanced e-gifting platform like Gifticon in Korea. This system allows people to send casual gifts such as coffees and donuts to anyone they are connected via mobile. Our team has done some market research, and we have decided to bring the Gifticon idea to the market.
As a sole designer in the team, I was required to set up a brand identity along with a logo and an app icon. The main focus was to imply "happiness", "vibrant", and "warmth" by branding. I could refer to the original Gifticon when figuring out user-flows, so it was pretty quick to come up with the MVP of our product.
Once our team came up with the app name, "Movo (mobile + voucher)", I have started creating a logo and color theme. Designing a new brand from scratch was one of the best things I could experience with co-founding a start-up.
